Disney Songs in Spanish →

For all y’all interested in learning Spanish and who love Disney—here is a great resource.  DisneySongSpain has many songs of the most beloved musicals of Disney available to watch in Spanish*.  I firmly believe in the compelling input theory of learning languages, that is, that if you watch something that captivates you, you will forget it’s in a foreign language, and the language will more easily insert itself into the wirings of your brain (something like that).

*In the hispanophone world, films and television shows are dubbed in both a standard peninsular Spanish (from Spain) and a sort of neutral (if that is possible) Latin American standard (how they make it neutral for all of L. America is beyond me! My guess is that it would be somewhat like standard Mexican Spanish, but my knowledge of L. American dubs is pretty limited)

Good Spanish Audio →

stephanosco:

If you are trying to learn Spanish or want to brush up, these audio clips are great. They are free too; you only have to pay for the supplemental materials.

I highly recommend these podcasts.  At times they can be corny, but half of it is NATIVE INPUT, which I believe to be the most important aspect of language learning.  The Brit’s accent when speaking Spanish is a little silly ;) but it’s hard for us to get rid of all our native language’s phonological properties—got off track… and they’re free.
